Umidjon Babakhanov was born in 1986. In 2007, he earned a Bachelor's degree in Banking from the Tashkent Institute of Finance, followed by a Master's degree in Banking and Finance from the same institute in 2009. In 2017, he obtained a Master's degree in Public Policy and Economics from Hitotsubashi University, Japan.

From 2007 to 2019, Umidjon worked at the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan, advancing from Senior Economist and Lead Inspector to Deputy Head of Department at the Banking Supervision Department, where he participated in on-site inspections of commercial banks.

In 2019, he joined Ipoteka Bank, where until 2021 he headed the Financial Analysis Division, responsible for monitoring the financial performance of branches and preparing analytical and regulatory reports.

From 2021 to 2023, he served as Chief Manager of the Investor Relations Service, coordinating engagement with investors, shareholders, international financial institutions and rating agencies.

Since 2023, Umidjon has headed the Financial Controlling Directorate and the Financial Controlling Methodology Department of Ipoteka Bank OTP Group, with responsibility for product profitability analysis, cost allocation and branch KPI calculation.

Umidjon is a Member of the Supervisory Board of Imkon Sug'urta JSC, OTP Group.
