The first half of 2026 showed notable growth in compulsory motor third-party liability (MTPL) insurance in Uzbekistan. In Q1 2026 insurance premiums reached 267.7 billion soums — three times more than a year earlier. Claim payments rose by 32.6%, to 75.8 billion soums, while the number of active policies grew by 22.7%, to 5.48 million.
Growth is also evident at Imkon Sug’urta. In the first half of 2026, MTPL insurance premiums increased by 39.39%, and claim payments by 142.6% compared with the same period last year. This reflects growing customer trust and the organisation’s readiness to help people promptly in difficult moments.
In June, Law No. ZRU-1154 came into force. An injured party can now claim compensation either from their own insurer or directly from the at-fault party’s insurer. The option to issue a policy with an unlimited number of drivers has also been established. This gives people more choice and makes obtaining assistance more convenient.
The market is becoming increasingly digital: policies are issued through a unified information system, and electronic data exchange is developing. Fewer documents and less hassle mean faster support.
For Imkon Sug’urta, developing MTPL insurance is above all about fostering a culture of responsibility and care on the road. After all, behind every policy stands a person for whom it is important to receive clear and reliable help on time.
