Starting from January 1, 2026, updated rules for compulsory motor third-party liability insurance (OSAGO) will come into force in Uzbekistan. The maximum insurance coverage limit will increase to 80 million UZS — for the first time in many years, insurance protection will become comparable to the real cost of damage caused by road traffic accidents.
Raising the coverage limit to 80 million UZS makes OSAGO an effective financial protection tool. Insurance policies will now be able to cover a much larger share of expenses, allowing drivers to rely less on their personal funds in the event of an accident.
With higher payout limits, the cost of OSAGO policies will be adjusted accordingly. In the regions, the policy price will be around 160,000 UZS, while in Tashkent it will reach approximately 192,000 UZS.
By purchasing an OSAGO policy, a driver acquires not just a document, but real protection on the road. And if one day your bumper happens to meet someone else’s, it is important to know that the system works — protecting you through the law, updated regulations, and a more mature insurance market.
